Planting Submerged Plants
Every pool needs oxygenating plants to keep the water crystal clear and pure.
These plants grow completely under-water and provide a natural algae inhibitor as well as a spawning ground for fish.
Tips for planting:
- Plant in shallow trays or 5" pots.
- Place pot directly on bottom of pool.
- Do not plant in same pot as other species.
- Alternately, bunches may bedropped directly into the water
- Allow one bunch for every 2-3 square feet of open surface area
Planting Marginals
Marginals are perennials that grow at the edge of your pond to complete the natural effect.
Marginal varieties are hardy and grow at water level, or in water up to 6" deep (check your plant labels).
Pacific West Perennials stocks a large selection of marginals including the following and many more:

They help control algae and provide a perfect spawning location for fish.
Floaters will multiply as much as 20x during the summer.
Tips for planting :
- Plant floaters in shallow water where the tips of their roots may enter the soil.
