We stock two different pond sizes and all the plants needed to make your water wonderland come to life.

• Choose a sunny spot to locate your lily pool
• Construct and fill your pond with water at least a few days before planting
• The ideal water temperature is 20°C

The success of your water plants depends upon three things viz. plenty of sunlight, rich soil and quiet shallow water.

Aquatic plants fall under the following four basic categories viz. marginals, oxygenators (submerged plants), floaters and water lilies.

This handy diagram indicates the ideal depth to plant each variety.

Planting Submerged Plants
Every pool needs oxygenating plants to keep the water crystal clear and pure.
These plants grow completely under-water and provide a natural algae inhibitor as well as a spawning ground for fish.

Tips for planting:

• Plant in shallow trays or 5" pots.
• Place pot directly on bottom of pool.
• Do not plant in same pot as other species.
• Alternately, bunches may bedropped directly into the water
• Allow one bunch for every 2-3 square feet of open surface area
  

Planting Marginals
Marginals are perennials that grow at the edge of your pond to complete the natural effect.
Marginal varieties are hardy and grow at water level, or in water up to 6" deep (check your plant labels).

Planting Floaters
Floaters are annuals or perennials that thrive on the surface of shallow water in a sunny spot.
They help control algae and provide a perfect spawning location for fish.
Floaters will multiply as much as 20x during the summer.

Tips for planting :

• Plant floaters in shallow water where the tips of their roots may enter the soil.
• Be sure to protect the roots against large goldfish.
